My opinion

I think this book is very appealing. I think it is very beautiful that Dominic actually discoveres how it feels to be loved by your family. He has never known his family but when he is transported back in time, he sees his grand grandfather. He actually saw how they immigrated to America to get a better life because in Italy they lived in poverty. I think this is really sad. This book is  kind of a bridge from real life to fiction because of course it is not possible to go back in time and pass through the life from almost 100 years ago. The realistic part of this book is the immigrating part. In the past, many Italians immigrated to America because they wanted to have a better life. This is a book full of adventure and discovering. The book includes history and fiction. I really learned something from this book because it really tells how immigrants immigrated to America in the past. Ellis Island is a real island where immigrants arrived in the past. So I do not only think it is a very beautiful book but I also think it is very interesting and educational. The only thing that was a bit disappointing is that the book is quite easy sometimes. It does not have a lot pages either. The good thing is that I literally could not stop reading because it was very interesting and I continuously wanted to know what was going to happen next. I would recommend this book to my friends. I really think it is such a beautiful book and it is difficult to stop reading. If would have to rate this book, I would give a seven because I really like the lovely, interesting and beautiful story but it was a bit too easy for me. The age for this book is 8-14.
